Chesapeake Conservation & Climate Corps Host Site
A one-year term of stipend-supported service, starting next August , that places young adults with nonprofit organizations or government agencies for a full-time, service experience in the environmental field. Pickering Creek Audubon Center is Proud to be a 2026-27 Host Site.
As Pickering Creek’s first Chesapeake Conservation and Climate Corps member helping us work towards a community where people see and feel the value of our natural world and make it a priority in their everyday decisions and actions, you will be an important and active member of a small six-person full-time staff.

During your year at Pickering Creek, a Corps Member matched with Pickering Creek will help with a variety of education, community engagement and restoration activities. Specifically, you will:

Take the lead on updating Pickering’s 4th grade in-school climate curriculum
Implement a newly designed trail on the property

Engage volunteers in the upkeep of five student-planted native plant pollinator gardens at local schools

Develop summer activities for EcoCampers and partner agencies to include climate themes
By integrating hands-on learning with environmental stewardship, we empower the next generation to grow academically, socially, and emotionally while developing a lifelong love and respect for nature. Share this flyer with people you know!
